The certificate
Gas certificate of conformity
Under the Pressure Equipment Regulations, a gas installation must be done by an installer registered with the SAQCC Gas, who issues a certificate of conformity. A certificate is needed when the installation is new or changed, and when a property with gas is sold.
What moves the price
A written quote, before anything starts.
The call-out starts from R450. Every house is different, so the work itself is quoted after seeing the problem, in writing, and nothing beyond making it safe starts until you approve. These are the things that decide that number.

What people ask us.
- Where can gas cylinders go?
- Outside, on a firm level base, and set away from doors, windows, drains and sources of ignition by the distances SANS 10087 sets. We tell you where yours can go when we look at the site.
- Can I install a gas stove myself?
- The law says no: a gas installation has to be done and certified by a registered installer, and an insurer can refuse a claim if it was not.
- Do I need a gas certificate to sell?
- Yes, if the house has a gas installation. We can do it alongside the electrical COC.
